Simple integration into OEM systems

The vLite from Beamtech Optronics is a particularly compact, diode-pumped dual-pulsed laser for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and other fluid mechanics measurement methods. The system was specifically developed for applications where high pulse stability, compact design, and easy integration are required.

Thanks to its DPSS technology, the vLite combines high beam quality with low maintenance requirements and is suitable for both industrial measurement systems and research applications in aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and combustion research.

The vLite is based on a modern diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser architecture and has been optimized for reliable operation in PIV systems.

In particle image velocimetry, two precisely defined laser pulses are generated in quick succession. By analyzing the motion of tracer particles between the two exposures, velocity fields in liquids or gases can be determined.

Unlike traditional lamp-pumped Nd:YAG PIV lasers, the vLite features a significantly more compact design and requires less maintenance. DPSS technology ensures high efficiency, stable output power, and a long service life for the pump sources.

The emission at 532 nm is ideal for illuminating typical PIV tracer particles and is compatible with most scientific high-speed cameras.

Thanks to its compact, air-cooled design, the laser can be easily integrated into existing measurement setups, wind tunnels, or OEM systems.

The vLite series has been specially developed for modern PIV applications and includes four power levels with pulse energies ranging from 135 mJ to 500 mJ per cavity. This allows the system to be optimally adapted to different measurement tasks – from Micro-PIV to large-volume Tomographic PIV applications. The series offers both multimode and VRM beam profiles with high homogeneity and excellent long-term stability.

Available Models:

  • vLite-135: 2 × 135 mJ
  • vLite-200: 2 × 200 mJ
  • vLite-380: 2 × 380 mJ
  • vLite-500: 2 × 500 mJ

Typical advantages over lamp-pumped PIV lasers

  • More compact design
  • Greater Energy Efficiency
  • Low maintenance requirements
  • Long service life of the pump diodes
  • Lower operating costs
  • High pulse stability
  • Quick Setup
  • Easy integration into existing systems
