The Wedge from Bright Solutions is a compact, diode-pumped DPSS laser with a short pulse duration, high peak power, and monolithic design. The Wedge series was specifically developed for OEM integrations, industrial material processing, spectroscopy, as well as LIDAR and research applications.

Through proprietary Fast Q-Switch technology, the system achieves pulse durations to under 500 ps with high repetition rates and a compact design. Thanks to the sealed monolithic resonator design, the lasers are particularly insensitive to vibrations and suitable for demanding environments.

The current wedge generation has been completely revised in terms of performance, pulse parameters, and model variety.

The models Wedge HB and Wedge XB are currently available at 1064 nm, 1570 nm, 3100 nm, 532 nm, 355 nm, and 266 nm. The pulse energy reaches up to 4 mJ with a pulse duration of just 1.5 ns.

The Series Wedge HF and Wedge XF offer particularly compact dimensions of only 8 x 9 x 19 cm and are available at both 1064 nm and 532 nm. Additionally, variants at 355 nm and 266 nm are available.

With repetition rates up to 100 kHz and pulse durations below 500 ps, the systems are ideally suited for precise material interaction, time-resolved measurement methods, and highly dynamic OEM applications.

The variants Wedge HF Plus and Wedge XF Plus enable additional higher output powers with identical pulse duration and the same mechanical footprint.

Thanks to high peak power with comparatively low pulse energy and low heat development, the lasers enable efficient ablation and nonlinear interaction with a wide variety of materials.

The compact and lightweight design is a significant advantage, especially for Lidar, mobile, and aerial systems. At the same time, the short pulses allow for extremely precise time-of-flight measurements.

Advantages of the Wedge Series

The Wedge lasers combine short pulses, high peak power, and high repetition rates in an exceptionally compact and robust OEM design. This makes them suitable for both industrial precision processes and scientific applications requiring high stability, timing, and integration capabilities.

Particularly noteworthy are:

  • Very compact design
  • High environmental stability
  • Air-cooled operation without complex infrastructure
  • High precision in time and material interactions
  • Flexible wavelength and configuration options
  • Ideal for mobile, industrial, and aerial systems
