The Variable UV waveplate from Meadowlark Optics extends the proven liquid crystal technology into the ultraviolet spectral range. While standard liquid crystal materials are susceptible to UV light damage at wavelengths below 450 nm, Meadowlark Optics has developed a new, UV-resistant material. This enables use at wavelengths up to 350 nm and ensures reliable performance even under demanding conditions.

The Variable UV Waveplate can be flexibly adapted to customer-specific requirements and is ideal for applications such as:

  • Variable attenuators: For precise control of light intensity.
  • Polarization rotators: For an exact modification of the polarization direction.
