The CASC is the core of a high-flux nuclear delivery system. The system's differential pumping is maintained by an opening in a silicon plate that isolates the user's vacuum system from the higher pressures required for high density 2D MOT operation. The CASC is based on the proven design found in the RuBECi and doubleMOT dual-chamber ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems from Inflection (formerly ColdQuanta) is used. With rubidium or cesium, flows of several billion atoms per second can be achieved.
