Our LaserPoint-manufactured thermopile detectors are characterized by high sensitivity and low impedance. High sensitivity is important to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio, especially when working at low powers. Complete OEM heads are designed around these sensor disks. They are supplied with housings, cooling systems and amplification electronics based on the customer's requirements and specifications.
Compared to other sensor types that could be used in equivalent applications, lasers can be measured directly with the thermopile detectors without attenuation, even at high power levels. In addition, LaserPoint sensors are made of robust materials and coatings. These can be UV to far infrared and can be used at small beam diameters without the risk of damaging the detector even at extreme power densities.
Furthermore, LaserPoint offers thermopiles with a high degree of linearity across their entire working range. With large apertures, they are suitable for the largest beam diameters. thermopile sensors are virtually insensitive to the position and size of the beam as it hits their active area, so alignment is never critical and installation time is fast for OEM applications.
Everything has been developed to ensure accurate and reliable measurements of lasers such as CO₂, excimer, laser diodes, Nd from 3 W to 200 W at competitive prices. All OEM sensors undergo a series of in-house inspections and controls, including individual sensitivity and impedance tests. A full calibration with NIST or PTB traceability is available upon request.
