Precise ultrasonic measurement in liquids

The Membrane hydrophone - HM series was specially developed for measuring pulsed ultrasonic fields in liquids and is suitable for demanding applications in research, industry and medical ultrasound technology. Thanks to its extremely flat sensitivity characteristics, the hydrophone enables very accurate reproduction of acoustic waveforms. This means that even short and complex ultrasonic pulses can be reliably recorded and analyzed. The usable frequency range of around 0.5 to 45 MHz (±3 dB) allows versatile use in a wide variety of measurement scenarios. .

Membrane technology and high sensitivity

At the heart of the Hydrophon - HM series diaphragm is the finely tuned diaphragm technology. It reacts extremely sensitively to pressure fluctuations in the medium and ensures high measurement accuracy over the entire frequency range. At the same time, the HM series is characterized by a high nominal sensitivity, which is particularly advantageous when detecting weak ultrasonic signals. The integrated preamplifier also supports stable, low-noise signal transmission and facilitates integration into existing measuring systems. .

Different versions for flexible applications

The HM series is available in two basic versions. The HMA version has a free diaphragm and is particularly recommended for high-power ultrasonic applications, as there is no additional energy absorption from a rear support. The HMB version has a supported diaphragm and offers increased mechanical stability, for example during scanning movements or automated measurement sequences. Both versions are suitable as internal primary or secondary standards as well as for general field mapping of ultrasonic fields. .

Robust design and near-standard calibration

In addition, the Membrane hydrophone - HM series thanks to its robust, sealed design. It enables reliable operation even with longer measurement series and under demanding conditions. Different available aperture sizes allow optimum adaptation to the respective measurement task. In addition, the hydrophones are supplied with a traceable calibration in the range from 1 to 20 MHz, which ensures the comparability and traceability of the measurement results. This makes the HM series a professional solution for precise, reproducible and standard-oriented ultrasonic measurements. .
