Powerful pulsed lasers for precision processing in the 2-µm range with the pulsed fiber laser 1920 - 2000 nm
The pulsed fiber laser from AdValue Photonics in the 1920 - 2000 nm wavelength range is designed for applications where targeted material interaction is required. Due to the special absorption properties of plastics, semiconductors and certain polymers, this laser is particularly suitable for precise micromachining, cutting and structuring of sensitive materials. In addition to industrial applications, it is also used in medical technology, where precise and controlled material removal is crucial.
Technical features and pulse options
This fiber laser is available in both Q-switched and mode-locked versions. In the Q-switched version, pulse durations in the range of 30 to 180 nanoseconds are achieved. This is achieved with maximum pulse energies of up to 500 µJ, allowing materials to be processed efficiently and with high precision. For applications that require extremely short pulses, AdValue Photonics offers mode-locked versions with pulse durations of only 300 to 900 femtoseconds. These ultra-short pulses enable almost thermally neutral processing, which protects the surrounding material.
Advantages of the pulsed 2-µm fiber laser
The combination of flexible pulse parameters and an optimally adaptable wavelength enables the laser to be precisely tuned to specific material properties. The fiber-based architecture ensures high beam quality, a long service life and robust performance in continuous operation. At the same time, the compact design allows easy integration into existing production systems or laboratory environments.
Areas of application
Typical areas of application include the processing of plastics and polymers in manufacturing, the structuring of semiconductor materials in microelectronics and precise applications in medical technology, such as minimally invasive tissue processing. The laser is also suitable for research work in photonics and materials science, where controlled energy input in the 2-µm spectrum is crucial.
