The ColdBlock CBL Sample Digestion System Large This is the most powerful model in the ColdBlock Pro Series for large sample volumes. It is designed for applications requiring larger sample weights, challenging matrices, or more representative sample amounts.
With up to 12 sample positions per digestor and sample amounts of up to approx. 30 g, the CBL is particularly suitable for environmental, mining, soil, sediment, and material analysis.
The ColdBlock CBL is the largest version of the ColdBlock Pro Series and the ideal Sample preparation system for large sample quantities up to approx. 30 g. A single CBL digestor can process up to 12 samples simultaneously – especially suitable for samples where larger sample weights are required for representative results.
The modular design allows multiple digesters to be combined into systems with 24, 36, or 48 sample positions. This enables the CBL to be used in laboratories with higher sample throughput as well.
ColdBlock Technology: Open Digestion Without Pressure Vessels
Like the other Pro Series systems, the CBL also utilizes ColdBlock technology with focused short-wavelength infrared radiation and a special cooling zone. The process enables fast, open digestions without pressure vessels and without long ramp-up or cool-down times – a crucial advantage over classic microwave digestion systems for large sample weights.
Software Control & Method Management
Control is software-based via iPad, tablet, or laptop. Methods can be created, saved, and reused as single- or multi-step lysis programs. This significantly simplifies the transfer of validated methods into routine operation.
Sample containers & scope of delivery
The CBL uses 200 ml borosilicate test tubes with a 52 mm diameter. Quartz tubes are optionally available. According to the manufacturer, a single CBL package includes the digester, controller, 24 borosilicate test tubes, two racks, two transfer trays, and a spare lamp.
