The variable retarder from Meadowlark Optics enable precise control of light polarization using state-of-the-art liquid crystal technology. Using nematic liquid crystal materials, the effective birefringence of the material can be changed using electrical voltage. This allows different polarization states - elliptical, linear or circular - to be set flexibly and precisely.
Innovative technology for the highest demands
The variable retarders are manufactured with particular care and precision. Optically flat windows made of synthetic quartz glass form the basis and are provided with a transparent, conductive indium tin oxide (ITO) coating. This coating ensures maximum light transmission in the wavelength range from 450 to 1800 nm. In order to achieve optimal alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, a special dielectric layer is applied, which is then gently processed.
Individual adjustments possible
The variable retarders can be customized for specific requirements such as customized retardance ranges or special temperature controls. Contact us to discuss your individual needs.
Our variable optics stand for precision and reliability. If you have any further questions about the systems, please feel free to send us a non-binding inquiry. Further information about the products and all technical data sheets for each variant can be found here: meadowlark.com.
