The stepless retarder from Meadowlark Optics is an innovative optical component that precisely controls the polarization of light. This technology is based on liquid crystals whose effective birefringence is changed by an electrical voltage. This allows different polarization states such as elliptical, linear or circular polarization to be set in a targeted manner.
High-quality materials and precise manufacturing
The stepless retarder is made of optically high-quality synthetic quartz glass with a transparent indium tin oxide (ITO) coating. This coating ensures maximum light transmission in the wavelength range from 450 to 1800 nm. The liquid crystal layer is integrated in a robust aluminum housing that ensures precise alignment of the optical axes.
