The new High Speed Thermal Sensors the Blink series from LaserPointThese patent-pending sensors provide unprecedented response times compared to conventional thermopile detectors while maintaining broadband operation. This enables even more precise laser power and laser energy measurements.
Blink can be used in all industrial, medical and laboratory applications, especially where accurate power or energy measurements of pulsed lasers with pulse durations up to femtoseconds and repetition rates up to 1 MHz are required. In addition, the thermal nature of the Blink sensors enables operation in a broadband spectrum from UV to THz.
The Blink family is available in two versions: Blink FR (Fast Response) and Blink HS (High Speed). The image shows the fast response of the Blink HS sensor to a sequence of laser pulses with a pulse duration of 4 ns and a repetition rate of 1 MHz. This means that even the fastest laser pulses can be detected precisely.
In addition, Blink offers the possibility of working in a wide power density range (10⁻³ to 10² W/cm²) of laser radiation. And all this without the use of optical filters or other precautions. This makes the measurement process simpler and more flexible.
Furthermore, the advantage of the Blink series of thermal high-speed sensors over pyroelectric sensors and photodiodes lies in their combination of fast response time, broadband spectral acceptance and high saturation threshold for direct laser irradiation. In addition, both pulsed and cw laser sources can be measured.
The high-speed thermal sensors are divided into the following categories:
Fast Response (Blink FR Series)
High Sensitivity (Blink HS Series)
