Efficient mapping of acoustic fields in liquids
The Hydrophon Scanning System AIMS III is an advanced measurement system for precise mapping of acoustic fields in liquids. As the latest generation of the proven ONDA scanning systems, it was developed to significantly increase the productivity of hydrophone-based measurements. Improvements in measurement preparation, scanning and evaluation enable a more efficient workflow and reduce the time spent in the laboratory. In combination with the powerful Soniq software, the AIMS III continues to establish itself as the de facto standard for acoustic intensity measurements.
Precise positioning and flexible scanning movements
A central feature of the Hydrophon Scanning Systems is the high-precision positioning system. With a repeat accuracy of less than 5 µm and fine resolution increments in the X, Y and Z axes, the system enables precise spatial detection of ultrasonic fields. The AIMS III supports three-axis scans as standard, but the system can optionally be expanded to include two rotational axes. This means that even complex measurement geometries and different measurement and sound emission directions can be realized, including so-called „shoot-down“ configurations.
Powerful software for analysis and reporting
The integrated Soniq software forms the heart of the Hydrophon Scanning Systems. It allows acoustic fields to be displayed in one-, two- or three-dimensional maps and supports real-time visualization during the measurement. Over 100 calculated measurement parameters, including Prms, Pii, Ispta, TI and MI, are available for detailed analysis. In addition, automatic evaluation and reporting functions facilitate standard-compliant documentation in accordance with current IEC standards and relevant FDA and AIUM-NEMA guidelines.
Versatile areas of application from research to quality assurance
The Hydrophon Scanning System AIMS III offers a balanced combination of versatility and ease of use. It is used in research and development to characterize new ultrasonic transducers as well as in regulatory testing and production quality assurance. Functions such as SmartSCAN with forward and backward movement reduce scanning times, while integrated temperature measurements provide additional control of the measurement conditions. This makes the system suitable for demanding laboratory environments with high requirements for accuracy and reproducibility.
Robust measurement setup and sophisticated system design
In addition, the Hydrophon Scanning System has a sturdy acrylic water tank with a large viewing window and connections for water circulation. Different tank sizes allow adaptation to different measuring tasks. The system can be seamlessly integrated into existing laboratory infrastructures and supports external software connections via a DLL interface. Overall, the AIMS III is a future-proof platform for precise, standard-oriented ultrasonic measurements.
