It provides a stable and controlled atom source that has been specially developed for applications with high particle density in the 2D magneto-optical trap (MOT). Its precise design enables a constant, high atomic flux with optimal vacuum isolation.<\/p>\n<h2>Technical design<\/h2>\n<p>Differential pumping is realized via a precise opening in a silicon plate. This reliably separates the user's vacuum system from the higher pressures required to operate a 2D MOT with high atomic density. The CASC is based on the proven design already used in Infleqtion's (formerly ColdQuanta) RuBECi and doubleMOT dual-chamber UHV systems.<\/p>\n<h2>Performance data<\/h2>\n<p>Fluxes of several billion atoms per second can be generated with rubidium or caesium. The high efficiency and stability make the MOT source cell ideal for experiments in quantum optics, atomic physics and precision metrology.<\/p>\n<h2>Advantages of CASC<\/h2>\n<p>The system offers reliable separation between the different pressure ranges, a high atomic flow rate and a compact design that can be easily integrated into existing UHV setups.
