The planar membrane design enables a very uniform frequency response and high sensitivity over a wide frequency range.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1408\">This makes the hydrophones suitable for the characterization of medical ultrasound systems as well as for research, development, calibration, and demanding acoustic field measurements.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1k1rl0n\" data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1455\">Planar diaphragm for broadband measurements<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1457\" data-end=\"1770\">The central element of the HM series is a thin piezoelectric membrane that responds to acoustic pressure fluctuations.
